‘Mad Melon’ Of ‘Danfo Drivers’ Is Dead

One half of the popular ‘Danfo Drivers’ duo, Oghenemaro Emeofa, popularly known as Mad Melon, is dead, Premium Times reports.

This was disclosed by management of the group, who announced his demise Thursday morning.

The singer was said to have been battling with an undisclosed ailment which, sadly, claimed his life on Wednesday night at Tolu Medical Centre Hospital in Ajegunle, Lagos.

“The Management of Mad Melon and Mountain Black aka Danfo Driver wishes to announce to the general public the passing on to glory of Oghenemaro Henry Azubuike Emeofa aka Mad Melon which sad event took place last night.

“A mighty Iroko and a true legend has fallen. May God grant his family, groupmate (Mountain Black) well-wishers and friends the fortitude to bear the loss. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Amen, “The statement read.

Mountain Black and Mad Melon were both Danfo driver (bus drivers) until the release of their hit song, “I Am A Danfo Driver”, which placed them on the spot light.

“Kpolongo” one of their hit tune earned them their first European tour in October 2006.

Recently, the duo accused Tekno of intellectual theft but later settled with the singer after a meting. Details to the meeting was not disclosed.
