VIDEO: Snoop Dogg – Revolution

Snoop Dogg leads a “Revolution” in the powerful music video for the latest single off his 2016 album Coolaid.

Featuring an array of people from various backgrounds, the clip acts as a journey through underserved communities in the Middle East and America. It also provides commentary on police brutality, social media-led justice, and how poverty and inequality are mirrored around the world.

Tha Doggfather appears throughout the clip, but its central focus is on a young black man. After noticing that he filmed one of their arrest, cops chase the young man through rundown streets in the Middle East. Eventually, he is stopped by a giant mirror that shatters to reveal a young woman in a hijab on the other side, standing in American projects.

Revolution” is just the latest example of Snoop’s politically-inclined videos. Last month, he also dropped “Mount Kushmore,” which features a befuddled President Donald Trump. Before that, he pretended to shoot Trump with a toy gun in the controversial visual for “Lavender (Remix).”

Featuring October London, the Just Blaze-produced “Revolution” appears on 2016’s Coolaid. Since then, Snoop has dropped another album, this year’s Neva Left, and he’s announced an upcoming gospel project.
