DAVIDO BIOGRAPHY
Born David Adedeji Adeleke; Davido is a professional Nigerian highly acclaimed for his blend of talents as a record producer, songwriter and singer. A native of the Yoruba tribe, Davido rose into great eminence through the release of “Dami Duro’’ in 2011. Considered one of his hit singles, “Dami Duro’’ was received by Nigerian music enthusiasts and across the country, it received frequent airplay. In conjunction with Adewale Adeleke –Davido’s sibling and elder brother –Davido is a founding member of HKN Music.
Being one of Nigeria’s reputable artistes, Davido has served on the payrolls of endorsement brands like MTN Nigeria and Guinness. In 2012, Davido was awarded an endorsement contract by MTN Nigeria. Moreover, the star musician reached another endorsement deal with Guinness Nigeria. Consequently, Davido featured among the Nigerian artistes who held down “Guinness World of More’’ concert at Eko Hotel in 2013. As a talented song producer, Davido has worked with other Nigerian artistes like Tiwa Savage and Naeto C. By and large, Davido’s music is considered to be a perfect blend of Afrobeat and Afropop genres.

Early Life and Family Background
Davido was born on 21st of November 1992 in Georgia, USA. While he was a child, Davido was brought to Nigeria whereupon he studied in Lagos State. Davido’s late mother [Vero Adeleke] served as a university lecturer during her lifetime while his father [Chief Deji Adeleke] is a renowned and successful Yoruba businessman. While growing up in Lagos, Davido was enrolled into British International School. Having finished his education at the Lagos-based school, Davido travelled abroad where he attended Oakwood University and studied Business Administration.
Davido is said to have developed his music passion while studying at Oakwood University. In course of his academic study, Davido purchased musical instruments which he used for beat making and recording vocals. For the fact that Davido was not interested in his actual course of study, he couldn’t make good grades at Oakwood University. Under the pressure of poor academic performances, Davido willingly pulled out of Oakwood University.
On Davido’s return to Nigeria, his wealthy father [Chief Adeleke] wanted him to give education a second thought by returning to school. Meanwhile, Davido agreed to elate his father by furthering his education at Babcock University in Nigeria. In 2015, Davido graduated from Babcock University with a degree in music.

Endorsements
According to Nigerian Entertainment Today, MTN awarded Davido an endorsement contract on 6th of April 2012. Believed to be worth #30 million, the endorsement deal portrayed Davido as the face of MTN Pulse. In accordance with a statement released by Pulse on 24th of October 2013, Davido reached an endorsement deal with Guinness. Going by the terms of the endorsement contract, Davido was included among the Nigerian artistes who performed at the “Guinness World of More’’ concert in 2013. Meanwhile, the other artistes featured in the concert were Wizkid, Waje, P-Square, Chidinma, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Phyno, D’Banj and Olamide.
