‘When the music plays’ Lavolta Stars releases a new song to celebrate New Year
In what looks like a back to back electrifying flow of creativity, the Afrocentric band and proponent of West-Afrobeats, Lavolta Stars, has released another song to herald the New Year. Recall that it was not up to a week since the band released ‘Agbedegbeyoni’, a classic, undiluted highlife music rebirth on all digital platforms. The restless band claimed its crown in delivery as promised and followed it up with the release of ‘When the music plays’.
This music, laced with heavy Nigerian traditional drums, was organically produced as all the musical instruments used were played live and recorded directly. And these include Agbamole, Iya-Ilu Bata, Gangan plus the Omele Ako Bata, while maracas and drum kit were used for the percussion section.
Violin, cello, bass and electric guitars were also played live to complete the string section, while trumpet, saxophone and flugelhorn completed the horns line. Electric piano completes the list of the instrument used for productions of this work.
It is not just about the instrumental, the lyrics of the song reaches down into a sad soul and bring out the excuse to be happy. With its intentional slow beat targeted at comforting and relaxing, the song is a must for every trip, sitting room and your phones.
The beautiful voice of the lead vocalist appeases to you to allow the music to play to take your pain away.
