La Liga Week 4 Review: Barcelona In Trouble, Real Bounces Back

Barcelona continued their La Liga campaign with a hard-fought 2-1 victory away at Getafe to extend their lead at the top of the table by two points. Gaku Shibasaki opened the scoring for Getafe and Dennis Suarez equalised for Barcelona in the second half. Paulinho then put the visitors ahead late in the second half to earn Barcelona another three points. The victory was however marred by Ousmane Dembele’s injury which will see him sidelined for the next four months.

Real Madrid also won 3-1 away at Real Sociedad with Borja Mayoral and Gareth Bale getting on the scoresheet and an own goal by Kevin Rodrigues earned Madrid three points and saw them climb up to fourth on the log. While Atletico Madrid also defeated Malaga 1-0 at home with Antonio Griezmann scoring for Diego Simeone’s men as they maintained their stance on fifth spot.
