ALBUM: Lil Yachty – Teenage Emotions [STREAM]

Miles Parks McCollum, better known by his stage name Lil Yachty, is an American rapper and singer. Yachty first gained recognition in August 2015 for his singles “One Night” and “Minnesota” from his debut EP Summer Songs. 

Lil Yachty gets in his feelings on his long-awaited debut album Teenage Emotions.

The 21-track project features Migos (“Peek a Boo”), Diplo (“Forever Young”), Sonyae Elise (“Momma”), and YG and Kamaiyah (“All Around Me”).

But the highly-anticipated project also features plenty of, well, Teenage Emotions. “[The album] caters to a teenager’s everyday lifestyle-heartbreak,” said Lil Boat. “Happiness, that vibe when you waking up in the morning getting dressed and you just wanna dance.”

Despite its happy vibes, Lil Yachty recently told Beats 1 that it wasn’t so pleasing to complete due to pressure.

“There was so much pressure in the beginning,” he said. “This is what I had to learn and I know I’ll be much smoother on my next album. When I made Lil Boat, my first mixtape, I didn’t have a drop date, a due date. I didn’t have critics rating it. I was just making it. And then when I finished it, I dropped it at my own smoothness, at my own pace…I didn’t even know I was gonna make an album like this. [Now], my only goal is to impress my fans.”
