Real Madrid leapfrogged city rivals Atletico Madrid into second place in La Liga after a comprehensive 3-1 derby victory at the Wanda Metropolitano.
Casemiro’s overhead kick handed Real an early lead (16) only for Antoine Griezmann to peg them back (25).
However, Sergio Ramos’ penalty (42) restored the visitors’ advantage before substitute Gareth Bale rounded off the victory after the break (74) – with Teye Thomas then seeing red for a second bookable offence (80).
The win means Real move five points behind leaders Barcelona, who are in action at Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.
