At the start of 2010, Wizkid officially burst onto the scene with the earworm that was (and kinda still is) “Holla At Your Boy” — his lead single off his iconic debut album, Superstar.
Now, eight years later, he is one of our most beloved artists — so much so, he can turn up for a concert five hours late and the crowd won’t even bat an eye. But when he was still trying to win us all over, Wizkid used to put A LOT more effort into his live performances.
Twitter user, @Lifematician, recently dug up an old video of the Starboy performing “Holla At Your Boy” live, and it’s the most hilariously extra thing we’ve ever seen him do — maybe even more than him trying to freestyle on DJ Jimmy Jatt’s Jump Off.
So, if you love a good laugh, his throwback performance — which had props (those chairs you see at every Nigerian wedding reception), overactive backup dancers and out of sync choreography — will definitely make your week.
